No. The Hostel does not have an elevator. The building has four floors. Guests with mobility concerns, injuries, or heavy luggage are encouraged to request a lower-floor room in advance. Staff are available to assist with luggage when needed.

The building is older construction, so some ambient noise between rooms is possible. However, The Hostel added extra soundproofing, and most guests report a comfortable, peaceful stay, particularly given the remote mountain setting of Teton Village. The property enforces a strict no-smoking policy and maintains a respectful atmosphere. Guests must be 18 or older to stay unaccompanied.

The Hostel serves as a convenient basecamp for exploring Jackson Hole’s mountains, national parks, and outdoor recreation opportunities. While guests are responsible for their own activities, trip planning, and safety, Hostel staff may be able to guide visitors to resources for recreating safely and responsibly. Information is publicly available regarding:
  • Skiing and snowboarding conditions at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort
  • Mountain weather and seasonal conditions
  • Avalanche awareness and backcountry safety resources
  • Hiking and trail recommendations
  • Wildlife safety, including bear and moose awareness
  • National Park regulations and recreation guidelines
  • Local transportation and shuttle options
  • Equipment rentals, guide services, and outdoor outfitters
  • Seasonal events and recreation opportunities
  • Emergency resources and visitor information centers

Because outdoor conditions in Jackson Hole can change rapidly, guests should consult official sources such as Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park, Bridger-Teton National Forest, and local weather services before participating in outdoor activities.

The Hostel periodically hires seasonal employees for housekeeping and front desk roles. On site housing is available to all employees.

Called “the soul of Jackson Hole,” it’s a great bargain. You can walk to the Mangy Moose and other fun spots, and nobody will be able to tell you apart from the skiers staying at the Four Seasons.
